Gearchatter is committed to providing the latest Gen III & Gen IV technical info on the web. We have the privilege of posting some of the first flow figures for the LS7 head that we are aware of. These numbers represent the last version we had the opportunity to flow before the final changes were made to the casting to accommodate the CNC machine work for production runs. Only minor tweaks were made to allow the complete port to be finished machined. We will have the runner volumes for both the intake and exhaust ports posted very soon. The flow figures were obtained using a 4.125" bore plate on a SF1020 flow bench. Very impressive!!!!!

That flow is right up there with some of the best flowing SBC heads around.

Very nice. Just wait -- pop those off, put some new seats and larger valves in there and do a little port work and you'll have some werious airflow.

Ah yes, it would be good enough for awhile, until you found out that you could get those castings flowing even more air Very Happy But those aren't bad to begin with for sure.

We are working on a nice pictoral comparison of the LS7 heads vs C5R's and ported LS6. It should help point out many of the differences. Smile

How big of a valve do you want to put in there?

I think the intake is fine. The exhaust could be improved some.

yea i'd leave the intake alone... that 2.20 valve is GINORMOUS!!! i'd probably pump the exhaust up to closer to a 1.80 but serious flow none the less.

will those heads work on sayyyyy... a 6.0 block w/ a 4 inch bore????? i know you'd need the ls-7 intake to fit. but i would like to know if they'd fit an LQ-9 block.

These valves are too large. They won't fit in the bore. You might get away with notching the block, but airflow would be sacrificed.
